Daniel moved from Montgomery to D.C. to work as a fellow for Progressive Congress.
April, 2007:
Daniel dreamed of moving to Washington D.C. to work in politics and policy!
OCTOBER, 2010:
BESSIE PACKED HER BAGS AND JUMPED CROSS COUNTRY FROM SEATTLE TO d.c. for her first nursing job
august 2012:
far too many nights at speed dating LATER, Daniel was starting to get discouraged...
August 2012:
After reaching her goal of working in the ICU, Bessie decided to join the online dating bandwagon because all her friends were doing it!

THEN THE INTERNET BROUGHT THEM TOGETHER!
Daniel made the first move and messaged Bessie on OKCupid. He was thankfully charmed by "the most private thing she was willing to admit"....that she believed in Santa until she was 12!

DANIEL INVITED BESSIE OUT FOR "COFFEE"...
SEPTEMBER 16 2012, 2 PM:
BESSIE WALKED INTO Teaism TO FIND DANIEL WAITING AT A TABLE
3 hours FLEW BY AS THEY bonded over mutual loves of getting dressed up, opera, and ROLLER-COASTERS! BESSIE TOLD DANIEL THAT SHE HAD NEVER BEEN TO THE KENNEDY CENTER BEFORE, AND IT WAS ON HER d.c. bucket list.
DANIEL'S GEARS BEGAN SPINNING AS They made plans to meet again...

THE THIRD DATE!
Daniel bought opera TICKETS at the Kennedy Center...the tragic story of anna bolena! SPARKS FLEW between THEM, despite the libretto and candenza of betrayal AND BEHEADING!
After the opera, Bessie was starving and desperately wanted a burger. they went to "the diner", a favorite spot near bessie's apartment. Daniel was smitten over the beautiful woman with a double cheeseburger sitting across from him, and hoped for many more shared burgers.
5 dates in, Daniel couldn't wait to make it official!
DANIEL MADE dinner and CONVINCED BESSIE TO BE HIS STEADY SQUEEZE. AFTER THEY DANCED to their first song together - "the nearness of you" BY NORA JONES, Bessie and Daniel OFFICIALLY RETIRED THEIR online dating profiles.

MARCH 2014:
After a couple years and a couple of apartments, they took the plunge to move in together.
december 2014:
Bessie left the nest of the ICU she loved to take on the biggest challenge of her career, being an LVAD coordinator!
may 2015:
daniel was ITCHING FOR A POOCH TO FILL THE NEW APARTMENT! BESSIE AND DANIEL RESCUED their fuzzy dog Nora Parkcip, named for Daniels favorite black and white movie heroine.
june 2015:
AS BESSIE WorkED long days and tOOK the pager for some even longer nights, Daniel supported her unconditionally with laundry, homemade lunches, and encouragement.
JULY 2015:
THEY WENT TO their epic Disney World and HAWAII TRIP!
But the 80 hour work weeks took a toll on them after many months...

april 29, 2016:
Bessie declared to her work wife Erin around 9 pm on the Friday night before the Joint Commission was coming her worry that work was straining the relationship.
Erin knew that Daniel was fretting over every detail of how to propose to Bessie the very next day.
Little did Bessie know, Daniel had a ring since November and was planning a day full of her favorite things in DC. She was too worried about The Joint Commission coming to inspect the hospital!
April 30, 2016, 7:00 am:
With Joint Commission looming on Monday, he made the leap to propose on Saturday! Daniel convinced Bessie that she needed a day of relaxation. He woke up early, planning to send Nora discretely to "camp" so they could spend the whole day together, and let Bessie sleep in!
But Bessie awoke early and tagged along instead! she thought it was strange that their friends chrissy and andrew were dog-sitting Nora that day, but didn't think too much about it...

Daniel and Bessie went to brunch, a D.C. Institution, and a favorite weekend past-time of theirs at the Mintwood. following brunch, daniel took her for champagne and pedicures at her favorite salon! as bessie relaxed, she thought...this day just can't get better! little did she know...

The day went on to a favorite bar where Daniel challenged Bessie to her favorite board game, Scrabble! as they were playing, a woman watched their game from the table next to them and whispered to daniel that he should marry bessie! bessie would find out later that he thought in his head, "be cool lady, damn!". bessie naturally won scrabble by about 60 points.

Daniel whisked Bessie to a romantic dinner at iron gate. as they sat down, daniel excused himself to the bathroom, and bessie thought to herself..."is he going to propose?....NAH...!". she brushed the thought from her head.
after four delicious courses, Daniel NERVOUSLY EXCUSED HIMSELF TO THE BATHROOM AGAIN, TO GIVE HIS PHONE TO THE WAITER FOR PICTURES. DANIEL POPPED THE QUESTION, AND Spoiler: BESSIE said yes! THEY WERE GREETED WITH MORE CHAMPAGNE AND DELICIOUS DESSERTS AS THE RESTAURANT APPLAUDED AND BESSIE WAS A MESS OF HAPPY TEARS.
But Daniel had one more surprise in store. He took Bessie to their favorite bar Sotto where their friends were waiting as a surprise! They spent a wonderful night celebrating with foie gras parfait and the most epic seafood tower at Le Diplomate, a favorite French place, and closed down the restaurant.
